Congratulations to Terrence Philbin, DO for being awarded the 2022 American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics (AOAO) Humanitarian Award. AOAO President, Gregory Hill, DO presented Philbin with the award at last week’s AOAO Annual Meeting held in Chicago, IL.
This award is bestowed upon an Academy member who has demonstrated a broad impact upon humanity and whose leadership and outstanding humanitarian volunteerism have improved the quality of life of individuals locally, nationally, or worldwide. Dr. Philbin was honored for his passion and commitment to caring for Veterans in his community. He regularly volunteers his time and resources to provide living essentials, opportunity, quality of life improvement, and a spark of joy to those who served our great Country. Philbin often partners with the 3rd & Goal Foundation, a non-profit founded by former NFL quarterback Brady Quinn, dedicated to making a difference in the lives of Veterans.
“Dr. Philbin is a huge reason why our foundation was able to serve more Veterans every single year for the last four consecutive years. He is not a supporter that we have to ask for help, he is one that comes to us and asks, ‘How can I help?’,” said Megan Whitt, Executive Director of 3rd & Goal. “He is known in our foundation for simply wanting to help Veterans in need in any way they need it. Not only does he support 3rd & Goal personally, but he heads up initiatives too through Orthopedic Foot & Ankle. Last year he learned that many of the formerly Homeless Veterans in central Ohio did not have proper shoes, some no shoes at all. His practice came together and was able to provide high-quality tennis shoes to many of those Veterans in need.”
Terrence Philbin, DO is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in foot and ankle care at the Orthopedic Foot & Ankle Center in Columbus, Ohio. For more information, please call 614.895.8747 or go to www.orthofootankle.com.
