OrthoAlliance Expanding Orthopedic Care in Central Ohio with Opening of New Albany MRI Facility

NEW ALBANY, Ohio – OrthoAlliance (OA) – an Ohio-based management services organization – is expanding patient access to orthopedic care in Central Ohio with the opening of its first MRI facility in New Albany.

The 1,500-square-foot MRI facility has the capacity to serve more than 300 patients a month. It is located at 5040 Forest Drive, Suite 150, adjacent to the Mount Carmel New Albany Surgical Hospital Campus and in the same medical office building as OrthoNeuro – an OA partner – and the New Albany Surgery Center.

“OrthoAlliance’s investment in a Central Ohio MRI reinforces the partner practices’ commitment to becoming the leading musculoskeletal care provider in Ohio,” said Paul Eichenseer, D.O., an OrthoNeuro orthopedic spine surgeon. “The MRI is an important step in fulfilling OrthoAlliance’s mission of providing the highest quality musculoskeletal care in the region in a timely, efficient, and patient-centric fashion.”

The MRI facility is scheduled to open November 1 and will initially be available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. with expanded evening and weekend hours planned in the future.

“Opening our new imaging center in New Albany is a tremendous affirmation of  OrthoAlliance’s commitment to excellence for orthopedic patients in Central Ohio,” said OA Chief Medical Development Officer Keith Berend, M.D.  “Having advanced imaging in our community on the New Albany campus will not only allow for accurate and rapid diagnosis but will also allow our OA partner physicians to prescribe physical therapy, which is available at multiple Central Ohio locations.”

An MRI provides state-of-the-art imaging. The equipment is paramount to quickly and accurately diagnosing musculoskeletal problems, ranging from understanding the cause of back pain to quickly diagnosing tears and injuries to the knee and rapidly assessing complex conditions of the shoulder, such as rotator cuff tears.

“Having a quick, efficient, and affordable accurate diagnosis of these common problems is so important to developing a safe and effective treatment strategy,” Dr. Berend said.

OA was formed in partnership with leading Midwest physician practices and Revelstoke Capital Partners, a Denver-based private equity firm. The company is building one of the country’s leading orthopedic management organizations. It provides operations, marketing, and patient experience expertise and resources to partner practices providing life-changing advances in orthopedics and sports medicine.

The opening of the MRI facility is another example of OA enhancing patient value and access to quality care throughout the region.

“This imaging facility complements the individual OA practices spread from Zanesville to Dublin, and also is a complement to our newest freestanding, physical therapy location in the Marble Cliff Office Park in Columbus,” Dr. Berend said. “It is yet another building block in the strategy to provide efficient care to patients in Central Ohio.”

Since 2019, OA has grown quickly to 200+ physicians and more than 2,000 employees. Its partners now include 12 practices across Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana.
