NEW ALBANY, Ohio – JIS Orthopedics (JIS) and White Fence Surgical Suites (White Fence) are celebrating their 10 year anniversary together while achieving a major milestone of joint replacement procedures.
Earlier this year, JIS Orthopedics and White Fence Surgical Suites – an ambulatory surgery center (ASC) – reached 15,000 joint replacement surgeries with a procedure performed by JIS Orthopedics President and Orthopedic Surgeon Adolph V. Lombardi, Jr., MD.
“When I started 35 years ago, we were keeping patients on bed rest for 48 hours, and hospital stays of 10 days, followed by a subacute stay, to now a stay of five hours,” said Dr. Lombardi, Jr. “And in 2013, we were one of the few places that were doing exclusively total joints in a truly outpatient setting. Here we are, 10 years later, having done 15,000 more than anywhere else in the world. I don’t know a single outpatient center that has done that kind of volume.”
Eight JIS surgeons perform cases at White Fence Surgical Suites, with the facility providing world-class care for outpatient surgeries for the past 10 years. The JIS surgeons focus on the benefits of outpatient surgery – home the same day, better outcomes, quicker recovery, and close to home. In addition to total joint replacement, the JIS surgeons also perform orthopedic spine surgery at White Fence.
“White Fence will continue to strive to be the preferred provider of surgical services for the surgeons of JIS,” said White Fence Administrator Lynn S. Feldman. “We want to continue to deliver the same (or better) quality and outcomes, efficiency and patient satisfaction of our first 10 years.”

White Fence Surgical Suites has developed an innovative model of patient care delivery that has contributed to its success.
“The process of scheduling, pre-admission, arrival, surgery and discharge have been analyzed and practiced, resulting in consistent, efficient and safe outcomes,” Feldman said. “Special attention has been taken from the beginning to create a repeatable process putting the patient first.”
Since launching 10 years ago, White Fence has surgery volume of more than 32,000.
“Seven of the 43 employees currently employed at White Fence have been here since opening,” Feldman said. “In today’s job market and plentiful opportunities, especially in healthcare, I consider this a great testament to the workplace and the dedication and trust of those seven originals.”
