OrthoAlliance is excited to announce its new partnership with Match Point Pickleball Club, the top destination for pickleball in Central Ohio. We are pleased to share that Dr. Scott Smith, an orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine expert from OrthoNeuro, will be stepping into the role of Medical Director for the club.
In his new position, Dr. Smith will offer valuable medical advice and support to Match Point members, concentrating on injury prevention, improving performance, and enhancing overall wellness for players. This partnership reflects a shared commitment between OrthoAlliance and Match Point: to help athletes at all levels remain healthy, active, and at the top of their game.
“Pickleball is a rapidly growing sport that brings fantastic health and social benefits,” Dr. Smith commented. “I’m thrilled to partner with Match Point Pickleball Club and contribute to the well-being of its members. My aim is to assist players of all abilities in staying healthy, preventing injuries, and continuing to enjoy the game they love.”
Dr. Smith brings a wealth of experience in orthopedic surgery and sports medicine to his new role. He graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry from DePauw University and earned his medical degree from the Indiana University School of Medicine. His training includes an Orthopedic Surgery Residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin and a Sports Medicine Fellowship at The Ohio State University.
Before joining OrthoNeuro, Dr. Smith was an attending physician and Medical Director for Riverview Health Sports Medicine in Indianapolis, IN. He has previously provided medical support for The Ohio State University, the Columbus Clippers Baseball Team, and several high school athletic programs. Currently, he is also the Team Physician for Hamilton Township High School.
